Episode 8-It’ll Bloom Again

Psalm 30:5b …weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

Endure…just make it through the night, and God says joy will come in the morning if you are one of His children. This podcast encourages us to not give up, because we may miss exactly what we have been waiting for.

Episode 7–If I Had Wings…

Psalm 85:6 And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove! for then would I fly away, and be at rest.

There are many times in life, when everything goes wrong. There are times when we may want to crawl away and hide or runaway and just get away from it all. Usually though, we can’t do that even if it is our heart’s desire.

If we will trust the Lord, He promises us that He will sustain us through those heartbreaks. It is our desire that you know the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour, and if you are saved, we pray that you are relying on the Lord–in the good times as well as the bad.

Say What?!

Psalm 119:89 For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.

We are certainly living in a different era. Yesterday two different articles showed the state of America. The Daily Hampshire Gazette tells the story of an Episcopalian minister in Massachusetts who will not marry heterosexual couples, because the Anglican Church has prohibited marrying homosexual couples. According to the article, Margaret Bullitt-Jonas, who is an associate minister of the church had this to say:

I am convinced that when gays and lesbians are baptized, they become full members of the body of Christ. They are not partial members or conditional members or second-class members.

He will not marry straight couples as a way of “fasting” to show support for those gays and lesbians who have had to live their entire lives without opportunity to marry. They have forsaken Scriptural truth in order to pursue social activism. There is not a shred of Bible support for a gay lifestyle–let alone marriage. Yet times have change…or so they say.

As if that is not bad enough, a nondenominational evangelical church in Missouri is getting attention for having an “outreach” in a microbrewery. They are having a variety of discussions (about rock and roll, racism, et. al) over a variety of beers to encourage the younger generation to come to church. The Columbia Tribune reports that this “emergent” church is using a variety of methods for reaching those that would not normally come to church. Christians would agree about reaching out to those who are not saved. I am an evangelist–it is one of my greatest drives, yet I cannot use immoral methods to do so.

We must cling to the verse that we opened with. It teaches simply that God’s Word is eternal. We as Christians do not have the right to decide our own morality. The Scriptures establish absolutes, and we are bound to them. Our churches are bound to the New Testament. We ought live and worship that way. Our faith is founded in the Word.

Episode 6-Not Ashamed

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

We can be bold with and not ashamed of the Gospel, because it is non-discriminatory. It extends to ALL men, not some or most. There is no need to be ashamed of such a good God. Yes, He is holy, and He does judge, and Hell does exist. BUT you don’t have to go!

The good man can be saved just as easily as the murderer or drunk. The young and old, rich and poor, all can be reached through the Gospel. Christ truly died for all men, and we receive that forgiveness through faith alone.

Why our God is Great!

Times goes rolling on…

Our God, the one true God of the Bible, is great, because He is eternal.

Psalm 90:2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

Man in one sense is an eternal being. Now before anyone calls me a heretic, let’s remember that the soul of man will live on either in the presence of God or in the lake of fire. I may some day experience physical death but never spiritual. I will experience a bodily resurrection (Rev. 20:6), and I will spend all of eternity with my Lord Jesus Christ. (I Thess. 4:17) But I did have a beginning–I was born in the middle of 1983.

My God, however, is “eternal in both directions.” I have no end in sight, but the God of the Bible has neither beginning nor end.

Psalm 93:2b Thou art from everlasting.

What an encouragement to know that the God I serve has seen the whole course of human existence. He knows where I have been, and He alone knows where I am going. When I then am in the darkest portions of my life, I can still put my faith in God, because He can see me through it.

It is our prayer that you know this true God. He has given His Son–who is also eternal, because He is God as well–to die for our sins. We receive this forgiveness not through our works, baptism, church membership, or even good deeds. Ephesians 2:8-9, John 3:16, and many other passages teach that it is by faith alone, we receive the grace, or gift, of God. We pray that you accept Christ today.

Episode 5-Which Lions to Shut Up

Daniel 6:23b So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God.

In this episode, we address specific issues that may be “lions” in your life. First, we address sin, then doubt, and finally discouragement. It is our prayer that you shut the lions’ mouths the same way Daniel did–by faith. Most of all, we want you to know the free pardon of sin that is available through Jesus Christ. Write us or e-mail us today if you have any questions.
